New Artists

Matthew E. White
Hometown:  Richmond, Virginia
Genre: Americana/folk/soul
Sounds Like:  An extremely laid back seventies groove!  White sounds as if he had songwriting classes from Cat Stevens, learned rhythm in Brazil, and soul and blues from New Orleans.  His new debut album is getting as much recognition as I have ever seen for a debut album.  With the legend, Randy Newman, handling the orchestral arrangements, White seems to have produced what sounds like a timeless album despite only being released a month ago.  This is one to listen to... take my word for it.
Hits:  "Big Love" "One of These Days"

Cheyenne McDonald
Hometown: San Luis Obispo!!!
Genre: Country/folk singer songwriter.
Sounds Like: The playful lyrics of Taylor Swift meets the instrumentation and songwriting of Fleetwood Mac; not to mention an extremely developed tone in her voice that immediately reminded me of a young Natalie Maine of Dixie Chicks.  Young indeed, this up and coming talent is only 16 years old!  Keep an eye out for her doing big things and continuing to progress musically (she has more than enough time to) in the near future.
Hits: Have a listen to her single "Pancakes on Saturdays"

Ray Barbee
Hometown: Long Beach, California
Genre: Surf Jazz
Sounds Like:  Easy listening guitar jazz with nice simple beats.  Its elevator music for the beach.
Hits:  Check out "A Word Aptly Spoken" and "Moment by Moment"
